Works with all Yamaha PW-X / PW-X2 / PW-SE / PW-ST / PW-TE / PW-CE / Air Drive motors and all their displays! Tuning kit is not compatible all Giant Syncdrive motors, Yamaha YDX Moro US (American) eBike models, Yamaha Crosscore RC, Yamaha Wabash RT, Yamaha PW, PW-X3, GasGas e-bikes. Ergo 900 display is not supported as well.
Product details What does this Tuning Kit do?
A smart Tuning Kit Volspeed V4 with an option to set a speed limit of an e-bike of your own choice. After the chip is installed, your e-bike?s display will show real data, such as maximum and average speeds, daily mileage and cruising range. In contrast to the almost complete elimination of the speed limit with other tuning modules, this module still allows a very sporty riding style with moderate battery consumption by slightly increasing the limit, e.g. to 20 mph (32km/h).
For a more natural riding experience, the dynamic mode spreads the downshift over a wider speed range, the so-called "wall effect" is significantly reduced.
How does Volspeed Work?
The tuning kit manipulates the speed signal without altering the motor's power relative to pedaling speed. This guarantees a smooth motor control without speed limit interruptions. Depending on a tuning kit, some determine when assistance stops, while others remove the restriction entirely for continuous support. However, the achievable speed mostly depends on the eBike model. Achievable speed can be calculated using a simple formula:
Speed = Cadence [rpm] * Wheel circumference [mm] * Front Chainring Teeth / Rear Chainring Teeth * 60 [min/h] / 1.000.000 [mm/km]
The tuning kit can be activated directly on your bike?s display. After pressing the arrow keys '????' starting from the support level 'High - STD - Hight - STD - Hight'. After Tuning kit activation speed limit is displayed for 5 seconds. If you would like to change maximumm speed, just press arrows button 'Up' or 'Down' keys. Possible values: 16... 28mph (25... 45 km/h). Default value: 20mph (32 km/h). The set value is saved. The value will be saved if you will not press any button for 5 seconds.
To deactivate the tuning kit, press the '???? ' buttons again.
The tuning is always switched off after switching on the bike.
It is possible to set a "softer curtailment behavior" (dynamic mode). This significantly softens the otherwise very abrupt deceleration at the speed limit. Correct display of the speed, the distance covered and the average speed at all times.
Is this Volspeed the right tuning kit for my bike?
Tuning kit is compatible with Yamaha PW-X / PW-X2 / PW-SE / PW-ST / PW-TE / PW-CE / Air Drive motors up to now.
The tuning module only works with e-bikes that have an electric motor support of up to 16mph (25km/h) ex works. Children's e-bikes with a support up to 12mph (20km/h) and Speed-e-bikes with a support up to 28mph (45km/h) are not supported.
The tuning is NOT compatible with the following motors:
- Yamaha PW, PW-X3
- all Giant Syncdrive motors- Yamaha YDX Moro US (American) eBike model- Yamaha Crosscore RC- Yamaha Wabash RT- Ergo 900 display is not supported as well.- GasGas e-bikes

When connecting Tuning Kit to an e-bike you will find connectors colored to make installation very simple. We have prepared detailed instructions and videos to make installation easy for you. Disassembly of our tuning kit is just as easy. If you have any troubles with installation or disassembly, do not hesitate to contact us. If you are planning to install Volspeed on a brand-new bike, make sure you ride it for at least 0.6 miles (1 km) before the tuning kit is activated.
